My name is Juanita Vernal Gil
Island Breeze was born from a passion for sharing authentic Jamaican flavors with our community. Our recipes have been passed down through generations, bringing the true taste of Jamaica to your plate.
Our Story
Our menu is rooted in traditional Jamaican dishes from jerk chicken and curry goat oxtail ackee and saltfish with a few favorites from the Dominican Republic and other islands mixed in.
Everything is made with love just like back home we hope to make our restaurant your home away from home come in bring your appetite and enjoy a taste of the Caribbean.
We are a husband and wife team with our 8-year-old daughter by our side bringing a taste of the islands to the heart of Houston I'm from beautiful Jamaica and my husband is from the Dominican Republic.

After living in Nantucket, MA, for years, we made a move to Houston and quickly fell in love with this amazing community.
We have met so many wonderful people here who kept asking the same question:
where can we find good Jamaican food?
That question sparked a new adventure in us opening our restaurant where we can share the rich bold flavors of the islands.
